9/1/2007Amco's Compressor Engineering Division is Expanding its Service Department.Due to the growing demand for our services, Compressor Engineering has hired three new field service technicians. "We are committed to provide the best in compressor repair services and this expansion shows it." said Service Manager Larry Brown. The new technicians come well qualified with experience in rotating equipment. More importantly, they are all US Military Veterans. They now will begin the rigorous process of formal training. The local classroom and hands-on training will be followed by intensive factory certification at Gardner Denver’s world headquarters. Help us welcome our new team members.

Samsung has reported major advancement in the sales of their line of Centrifugal Compressors. Worldwide sales continue to grow at a fantastic rate. In Atlanta, Samsung announced the next generation of centrifugal compressors. The SMP line is the most energy efficient on the market today. “Efficiency is key when applying high horsepower” said Phil DuChateau, Compressor Product Manager. The line up will span 125HP all the way to 3,000HP and will be totally enclosed for quite operation. An energy audit of our own 42,000 square foot facility in Itasca has uncovered significant opportunities for energy savings. We have just completed total retrofit of our office and shop lighting. The biggest opportunity was the shop conversion of metal halide fixture to “T5” florescent fixtures with motion sensors. The total conversion cost will pay for itself in less than 2 years.
